Why do players wear masks in World Cup?

Hello friends, how was this World Cup!  This year's World Cup was full of excitement. In the beginning, the small groups were losing the big groups! A big incident was going to happen. First Argentina's loss to Saudi Arabia, then Germany's loss to Japan, Belgium's loss to Morocco, Portugal's loss to South Korea were creating great excitement among the audience. But there was another thing that raised questions in the minds of the audience. That is some players wearing batman's masks and entering the field. "Son Heung-min" of South Korea, "Thomas Meunier" of Belgium, "Yasko Guardiol" of Croatia and "Elias Eskhiri" of Tunisia can be seen using this type of max. There is a lot of chatter on social media about this.

You'll be surprised to know that they didn't read this max for any fashion. There is an excellent reason behind this.

So let's find out why they went to the field using black masks?

Actually it's not a mask it's a "faceguard".

All players who have played with this faceguard have suffered facial injuries. Players wear this face guard to protect their face. They played by hiding their faces under a kind of compulsion.

This guard contains some materials like polycarbonate and high-tech protective devices.

After this, footballers can play matches even with facial injuries. This faceguard is made in 3D technology by scanning the shape of their face.

One of South Korea's players "Son Heung-min" was the main hope of the Qatar World Cup team.

The South Korean forward suffered an injury in a Champions League match before the tournament. Son Heung-min played for Tottenham Hotspur against Marseille that day.

At one stage of the match, Son clashed with former Newcastle defender Chancellor Mbemba's shoulder. The South Korean forward broke his eyeball. With this injury, Son's place in the World Cup is uncertain. But the 3D faceguard made of all polycarbonate brought him back to the field of Qatar.

The guard played every match of the World Cup. He was instrumental in a dramatic 2-1 win over Portugal in the final group stage match. The win secured South Korea's place in the knockout stages of the tournament for the first time since 2010.

Son wears a mask made of black carbon fiber. According to him, the faceguard is much more comfortable than expected.

The 30-year-old star said, 'It's made of very good material. This lightweight guard fits tightly to the face. Actually it's considerably lighter than I imagined.'
